Team Results

Piper Men – 4th Place Finish (highest finish in school history)

Piper Women – 4th Place Finish (highest finish in school history)

Highlights

27 Men’s School Records Broken

17 Women’s School Records Broken

This is the largest number of athletes that Piper has ever taken to the ‘State Powerlifting Meet’ in both the Men’s and Women’s divisions.  We will only be graduating two seniors, Abby Berner and Cooper Beebe, from this year’s team.  We currently only have one junior, Jacob Swatek, who competes on the team.

We were very close to winning a bronze medals for three more athletes in the Men’s division as we had three lifters finish 4th, Fr. Jackson Andrade, Fr. Grant Lockwood, and So. Brandon Snell.

Fr. Kaia Cordill took 4th in the Women’s 165lb class, she was 5lbs away from being the bronze medalist.

Abby Berner won Lifter of The Meet in Women’s Heavyweight Division, awarded to the strongest female lifter pound-for-pound in the 4A Classification.

Darius McNeal (2nd) and Cooper Beebe (3rd) become the 4rd and 5th lifters in school history to earn medals at the ‘state meet’.

  • John Stimach 3rd (2009)
  • Sterling Owens 1st (2014)
  • Malakhi Kennon 1st (2018)

Abby Berner becomes the second female lifter in school history to medal.  The first ‘State Champion’!

  • Leanna Coffey 3rd (2009)
