Multiple Teams · Dance Team, Starting Strong!

This summer, your 13 member Piper High School Dance Team went to a 4-day NDA (National Dance Alliance) summer camp and achieved multiple awards at NDA’s biggest camp in the country, held at Kansas University in Lawrence, Kansas. PHS Dance Team won GOLD in the Team Dance Circle of Winners for their performance in the team dance. Piper won the GOLD team leader award, performed by Morgan Haworth and Aly Droppelmann, for their performance among all team leaders at the camp. Three team members achieved All-American status: Senior Morgan Haworth, Freshman Jillian Collier, and Freshman TyJanae Hooks. Captain Morgan Haworth was asked to become a member of the NDA staff for next year, an honor offered to just three dancers at the entire camp! One of the most humbling awards given to Piper Dance Team was the NDA Spirit Award; this was awarded to the team most admired by other teams at camp, in which Piper was given a Gatorade cooler! The team was also given a Spirit Stick, Superior rating for Home Routine, a Power Performance award on night 2, and a bid to the NDA Nationals Competition. A special honor received was the Innovative Choreography award, given to the team whose routine brought from home was the most innovative; Piper’s routine was choreographed by alumni, and NDA staff member, Hannah Haworth.

Congratualtions to the 2019-20 Piper Dance Team: Senior Captain Morgan Haworth, Senior Co-Captain Morgan Slaughter, Junior Aly Droppelmann, Sophomores Lexi Gerber, Liv Golden, Audrey Menzies, & Zoey Pudenz, and Freshmen Jillian Collier, TyJanae Hooks, Lilly Ladish, Aubri Markham, Riley Merrick, & Iris Stecklein.
