Macey Nigh would not be denied at the plate on Thursday, picking up five hits and leading Piper Pirates Varsity to a 18-6 win over Ottawa. Nigh singled in the second, singled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, singled in the sixth, and hit a grand slam in the seventh.
There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Piper Pirates Varsity collected 21 hits and Ottawa had eight.
Piper Pirates Varsity fired up the offense in the second inning, when Emma Martin singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Piper Pirates Varsity tallied seven runs in the seventh inning. Piper Pirates Varsity offense in the inning was led by Lauren Pappert, Kaia Cordill, and Nigh, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Hadl took the loss for Ottawa. She lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while walking zero.
Stottlemire started the game for Ottawa. He went four and a third innings, allowing ten runs on 14 hits, striking out three and walking zero
